Growing up in the middle class, fur was always something out of reach for me -- a luxury reserved for the traditional shops of downtown Anchorage and the cruise ship ports. But I believed everyone deserved to experience the warmth and beauty of real fur, not just a privileged few.
With a background in wildlife biology, taxidermy, and years spent as a grizzly bear hunting guide, I developed a deep respect for animals and the natural world. That respect is at the heart of everything I make. Every fur used in a Gold Standard Furs product is ethically sourced, and nothing goes to waste — even the smallest scraps find new life as handcrafted earrings.
Gold Standard Furs is a one-woman operation, built on skill, passion, and a belief that quality fur products should be accessible to everyone. Everything here is made by hand, with thoughtful layout and design, for people who appreciate the real thing.
The quality of my work has been recognized time and again — I've taken home First Place and Best of Show Ribbons across many different competitive events, a testament to the craftsmanship and care that goes into every piece.
